Each and every project I complete is unique to my clients needs, space and budget. I gain so much enjoyment from each of my projects. The design challenge, the creativity of exploring my clients’ own style and delivering something beautiful and welcoming. Here are some of my favourites.

St Heliers Project

I was engaged in the early part of the design phase for this new build. Working with a family (with 2 teenagers) through the design, build and interior design process I enjoyed the collaborative design process with the owners, right from the ground up. This resulted in a home that truly reflects their personalities, a comfortable, luxurious and welcoming environment. We created a soulful home with easy family living, dynamic enough to allow the family to grow with the home over many years to come.

The Crest

It was a joy to bring this mid century 1960s gem into the 2020s. Creating comfortable living for a family of five, with very little modifications to the original floor plan, I worked with the architect’s original 60s vision.  Exterior features were reinstated and profiles echoed in the interior ensuring the ‘new’ home stayed true to its era. Retro colour touches and patterns along with the pool area’s iconic mid century sunken lounge, keep the character and charm of the home and era.

Remuera Project

This 2 level1990s Remuera townhouse became another diamond in the rough project for me. My brief was to refresh and modernise this previously neglected property to a high standard suitable for a business professional and his 2 teenage children who lived with him week about. With a 6 week refurbishment deadline, a tight budget and some original 90s design challenges, that no doubt seemed like a good idea at the time, the property emerged from this transformation as a modern, bright, warm and welcoming home with ample space for everyone.

Ellerslie Project

In what initially felt like a daunting task, I was engaged by the owners of this single level 50s home to refurbish their investment property in preparation for its sale. Although the property had spent its previous 15 years as a rental investment with very little maintenance carried out over this time, the ‘bones’ of the home were solid, it had some fantastic period features just crying out to be reborn and the layout was practical. With a very tight timeline of 5 weeks over a Christmas holiday period and strict budget parameters, the property certainly presented its challenges. Delivering the finished product to my clients on time and within budget gave me a great sense of satisfaction. To then see the home sell for a record price at that time was the icing on the cake.

Meadowbank Project

A wonderful example of design collaboration, this is where my journey of home and interior design began in earnest by unveiling the timeless beauty of this 1920s bungalow. This certainly wasn’t a project for the faint hearted, requiring extensive excavation to create a lower living level and a large extension to the rear of the existing home. Working with a skilled build team and collaborating with design colleagues, what began as an unassuming but charming 3 bedroom home morphed into a spectacular 5 bedroom, 3 bathroom home with multiple living spaces and an uncompromised connection to the outdoors – a timeless project result that I still feel an immense sense of pride in even a decade later.
